Well, you may have noticed, this site just got quite a visual revamp today. I’ve uploaded the version that’s quite barebones; it’s actually more lightweight than my previous design in many ways. The entire Prototype library is gone. It also took me forever and a half to figure out how to make a featured post, but exclude asides from appearing in it. Perhaps I’ll write something tomorrow about how that’s done.

I’m pretty happy with the design at this point, but there is still some work to be done in optimizing it for speed. The template has 40-odd ‘objects’ on it and each http request takes time, so the latency adds up quite quickly. I’m going to see if I can’t get that down towards 30. As well, I do plan on implementing things like live search and commenting eventually. However, I plan on using moo.fx along with mootools instead of Prototype, in an effort to streamline things.

Please comment on anything that looks awry as I may have missed a few glitches. Hope you like it.

  1. Yeah, I actually remembered that, but never got around to fixing it, heh. Thanks for the reminder. I’m also looking up this search function. It seems royally messed up in its current state.
