I actually don’t have much to post here. I’m spending most of the time on the bus working on the new theme idea that’s been swirling around in my head. I’ve got the Webserver-on-a-Stick software installed on my harddrive now so I can do all my testing without the internet. Plus, I fixed a couple bugs with my already released themes. One of them was pretty severe (unfortunately). The RSS feed link wasn’t working (the address was being pre-pended with a “feed:†and thus wasn’t working. I added a custom bullet image to the WaterlooWP theme to better match how it actually look on the University of Waterloo site.
I had a co-op midterm evaluation with the boss today. That went pretty well. She’s pretty impressed with my work so far. I also got a few pointers on writing my work term report. The topic I’m leaning towards/have already chosen is a pretty abstract one. Working as QA in a tech company doesn’t really expose you to too much that you can actually fix. All these PDEng assignments are going along the lines of what is the problem and how are you going to fix it? Well, the problem I see is very complex and I cannot fix it myself. I’ll probably have to shoot my PDEng mentor an email to discuss the whole thing, you know to see if what I’m writing about is acceptable. So far, I’ve passed my assignments regarding the topic, but it remains to be seen if I can actually write a whole technical document on it. It seems like I’m ahead of the curve though. Most of the other people I spoke to about the reports haven’t really even thought about it.
And that’s all for now. Gotta get back to work.
