Seattle Space Needle

During one my first weekends in the Puget Sound region, last semester, I took the opportunity to go to downtown Seattle and see the touristy sights/sites.

Perhaps the most famous is the Space Needle, constructed for the 1962 World’s Fair, and now a symbol for Seattle. Nearby is the Experience Music Project, quite the piece of modern architecture. Standing at the base of the Space Needle, I noted this view, which is quite similar to one of the wallpapers included with Windows 7.

Seattle at Night – Kerry Park

Seattle at Night

The very photogenic Seattle skyline from the popular Kerry Park vantage point. This was taken after a fantastic Ben Folds concert, with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra. He came back for an encore, then came back once again to play an ad-hoc solo concert, while the audience stood, crowded around the stage. Benaroya Hall suddenly turned into a pub-house stage. Very cool.
